The Bangladesh National Hindu Mahazot protested against the ‘attempts to change the Hindu law by some NGOs’. This demand was announced in a human chain and broom procession in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka today.

The leaders said that Hindu society will not give any concession to those who want to destroy Hindu law. They demanded a clear announcement on this matter by May 30.

According to their complaint, some NGOs including Law and Arbitration Center, Nari Paksh, Mahila Parishad, Foundation for Humanity are creating chaos in Hindu society and family by conducting activities against Hindu family, society and religion. The leaders urged the government to cancel their registration and ban the activities.

Speakers said that some NGOs, including the Foundation for Humanity, are sowing the seeds of conflict and unrest in the Hindu community by destroying the well-established Hindu rules that have passed peacefully for thousands of years. They have embarked on a plan to make Bangladesh Hindu-free by destroying the well-established and peaceful Hindu family system.

The speakers said that the so-called civil society and NGO activists have submitted a proposal to incorporate the system of talaq in the Hindu law. They are bent on destroying the basic foundation of Hindu marriage. Due to pressure from NGOs, the government introduced opsonal marriage registration system. That registration is also done in the Muslim Marriage Registrar.

They said that Srivas Saha of Khulna, who was registered with the Muslim Marriage Registrar, filed the divorce case again. In other words, Muslim rules are imposed on the neck of Hindus compulsorily. Therefore divorce or divorce by any name will not be accepted by Hindu society.

The speakers said that the basic foundation of Hindu law is the Vedas. Vedas are the words of God. All the rules of Hindu marriage, inheritance, etc. are derived from the Vedas. Interference with Hindu law means direct interference with Hindu religion; Which Hindu society will never accept.
