Two college students were killed in a bus accident in Kushtia’s Khoksa. The incident took place at Biljani Fultala intersection around 1.30 pm on Thursday.

The deceased are Parvez (20) son of Abu Bakkar of Chowrangi area of Panti union of Kumarkhali upazila and Abu Mucha (18) son of Ishaq Ali of Char Jagannathpur village of Jagannathpur union of the same upazila. They were both 11th class students of Shamspur College.

According to police and local sources, Abu Mucha and Parvez were going towards Pangsha upazila from Khoksa on a motorcycle. Biljani tried to overtake the bus at Phultala area. At that time, their motorcycle coming from the opposite direction lost control and went under the rear wheel of the bus. Both of them were crushed by the wheels of the bus and died on the spot. Later, Khoksa police station and fire service personnel went to the spot and recovered their bodies.

Khoksa police station OC Mustafa Habibullah said that two students who were riding motorcycles in the bus were killed on the spot. The bus has been impounded. The driver is absconding. Efforts are underway to bring the driver under the law. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered and handed over to the highway police.
