An allegation of gang rape of the wife by tying the husband was found in Dhewatli village of Chunarughat upazila. There has been an uproar everywhere about this incident. Both have been admitted to Sadar Hospital in critical condition. The victim was seen crying at Sadar Hospital yesterday evening around 7 pm. He said that the victim (22) was married to Sabaj Mia of North Kalinagar village.

Badrul, Nishat, Rajan Mia and Naeem Mia, sons of Abdus Salam of the same village, took Sabaz from the local market at gunpoint to Qayyum’s house. Later he was detained there and tortured and called his wife through Sabaj and took her to that house. There, Sabaj’s wife was detained overnight and brutally tortured. At some point, when the victim fell ill, Qayyum reported to Chunarughat police station on Tuesday morning that two thieves have been detained. Later, SI Sadrul Amin went to the spot and found out that they were not thieves. They were rescued and released. When they came home sick, they were admitted to Sadar Hospital in the afternoon.

The victim also said that the said persons brutally tortured her throughout the night. He is sick of it.

In this regard, Rashedul Haque, OC of Chunarughat police station, said that the police came to know that they were detained in relation to theft. Later, both of them said they would solve it, then the police came. However, if there is an incident of rape, legal action will be taken if a complaint is filed.
