Sinan Ogan, a staunch nationalist leader, has endorsed current President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Turkey’s elections. Sinan Ogan, who was in third place in the first round of voting, got 5.2 percent of the votes.
At a news conference in Ankara on Monday, Ogan said his campaign had brought nationalist politicians to prominence in Turkish politics. News Deutsche Welle and Daily Sabah.
Urging the supporters to stand by Erdogan, he added, “We had all kinds of discussions before taking the final decision.” It is the right decision for the country and the people.
It should be noted that according to the constitution of Turkey, no candidate received more than 50 percent of the votes, so the election went to the second round of voting. Sinan Ogan’s support for Erdogan may change the calculus.
