The foundation stone of Shakdah bridge construction work on Gobindganj-Gaibandha via Nakaihat road has been laid.

Engineer Monowar Hossain Chowdhury, Member of National Parliament of Gaibandha-4, Gobindganj Constituency, laid the foundation stone through prayer ceremony as the chief guest on Monday (May 22).

Abdul Latif Pradhan, President of Gobindganj Upazila Awami League and Chairman of Upazila Parishad, was present as a special guest in this event. Gobindganj Upazila Awami League vice-president Altamasul Islam Shilpi was present in the event, Fulbari Union Parishad Chairman Anichur Rahman Shiblu, Upazila Awami League Education Affairs Secretary Khaled Ahmed Chowdhury Tuhin, Fulbari Union Awami League General Secretary Abdul Mannan Master, Fulbari Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad. President Shri Sunirlal Deb Gultu Shakdah Crematorium General Secretary Bijan Roy, Upazila Chhatra League former General Secretary Ahsanul Sheikh Sumon, Urban Awami Jubo League Joint Convener Noornavi Sarkar Nannu, Upazila Tanti League General Secretary Atwar Hossain Atiq and other leaders.

The bridge is being constructed at a cost of around 8.3 million taka at a place called Shakdah in Fulbari Union on the Gobindganj-Gaibandha Via Nakaihat road of the upazila under the supervision of the Roads and Highways Department.
