Formation of Active Citizen Group of Srimangale Cha Bagan Government Primary School

Active Citizen Group (ACG) has been formed by non-political, voluntary and socially acceptable individuals of the area to improve the quality of education in Bhurbhuria Cha Bagan Government Primary School of Kalighat Union of Srimangal Upazila of Moulvibazar.
The group was formed under the ‘Participatory Action Against Corruption: Towards Transparency and Accountability (PACTA)’ project implemented by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) and Conscious Citizens Committee (SANAK), Srimangal.
A 16-member active citizen group was formed by electing local social activist Rajes Bhowmick as coordinator and youth society representatives Tamal Bhar and Smriti Doshad as co-coordinators through the active citizen group formation meeting held on Sunday (21 May). Assistant Upazila Education Officer (GBGBI) Manorama Devi was present as the chief guest in the function presided over by Sanak President Dipendra Chandra Bhattacharya.
Area coordinator of TIB Md. Abu Bakar and YES, co-leader Eamon Goswami spoke in the event, former president of SANAC and member of education sub-committee Syed Nesar Ahmad, sub-committee co-advocate teacher Zahar Tarafdar, member of sub-committee journalist Syed Chayed. Ahmed and school head teacher Savita Dev and others.
The newly-elected ACG Coordinator and Co-Coordinators among others addressed the meeting on the occasion. In the meeting, TIB, SANAC, PACTA project, ACG formation goals, objectives and activities of ACG were explained in detail. Before the formation of ACG committee, Area Coordinator of TIB, Md. Abu Bakar explained in detail about TIB, Sanak, Pacta project, ACG formation goals, objectives and ACG activities.
