A school student named Tushar (15) committed suicide by hanging himself with his mother’s saree in Gobindganj, Gaibandhar. The incident took place in Chak Rahimapur village of Sapmara Union of the upazila on Saturday (May 20) afternoon.

Deceased Tushar is the son of Aurobindo Chandra of the same village. He was a ninth grade student of Sahebganj High School.

Shakil Akand Bulbul, Chairman of Sapmara Union Parishad, said that in the afternoon, Tushar entered the house without saying anything to anyone. She tied her mother’s sari around her neck and took a noose. After a while, the family found him hanging and rescued him and took him to Gobindganj Upazila Health Complex. The doctor on duty there declared him dead. But the family members could not say anything about why and why Tushar committed suicide.

He also said that the family cannot accept the suicide of the student at such a young age. The matter has been reported to Gobindganj police station.
