Discussion Meeting With stakeholders

An innovative initiative of Bandarban district administration held a discussion meeting with stakeholders on handicraft products and ‘Kalabati’ sarees made from banana fiber yarn.This exchange meeting was held in Bandarban Circuit House conference room on 19th May (Friday) morning.Senior secretary of the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of Bangladesh Mr.Tapan Kanti Ghosh Was present as the chief guest in the program organized under Presided Over By Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji. The chief guest Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Tapan Kanti Ghosh said, I congratulated the Deputy Commissioner of Bandarban for the project undertaken on his personal initiative.He said,the handcraft products made by women from the fiber of the banana tree in the mountainous region and the Kalavati saree project made from the fiber of the first banana tree in Bangladesh will be fully supported by the Ministry of Commerce. Senior Secretary Added Ministry of Commerce Will Be Support To Make Rich The Product In National And International Market. At The Time Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji highlighted the importance of the local market for banana fiber handicraft products in Bandarban and the importance of local women’s self-employment as a result of the development of this project. Ministry of Commerce Additional Secretary Maleka Khairunnessa,Joint Secretary Jinnat Rehana,Deputy Secretary Jannatul Ferdous,Superintendent of Police Tariqul Islam,PPM, Additional Superintendent of Police Md.Shah Alam,Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Md.Fazlur Rahman,Executive Magistrate Rajib Kumar Biswas,Executive Magistrate Sheikh Abdullah Al Mamun Was present on the occasion. Later,Commerce Ministry’s senior secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh and Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji along with the inspection team of the Ministry of Commerce visited the training center and factory for making Kalabati saree from banana fiber at Kalaghata.On the same day he visited Krau Amtali Para.
