RAB has arrested the rapist Sagar Chandra Paitrish from Chatkhil area of Noakhali in connection with the sensational rape of a mentally challenged girl under Sadar police station of Gaibandha district. This rapist was arrested in a joint operation by CPC-3 Gaibandha of RAB-13 and CPC-3 of RAB-11.
Company Commander of RAB-13 AKM Asif ud-Daula said these things in a press briefing at the CPC 3 office of Gaibandha RAB-13 on Thursday (May 18) night.
He said that on the morning of April 18 of this year, Sagar Chandra, the accused, was arrested for forcibly raping a mentally challenged girl of Sadar Upazila against her will by tempting her to buy mehndi. The victim’s mother filed a case at the Sadar police station on April 27. In continuation of this, on May 17, in a joint operation of RAB-13, Gaibandha camp and RAB-11, CPC-3, based on secret information, the main accused named Sagar Chandra of Ejahar was arrested from Chatkhil police station area of Noakhali.

The arrested Sagar Chandra Gaibandha is the son of deceased Jharu Ram Chandra of Kashdah area of Sadar Upazila. This RAB officer also said that Sagar Chandra confessed to the rape during the initial interrogation after the arrest.
