BNP’s Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that filing a case involving Ziaur Rahman in the killing of three freedom fighter army officers in November 75 is a far-reaching political conspiracy of the government. His apprehension is that as the period of the fall of the government approaches, the level of such conspiracy against BNP including Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda Zia and Tariq Rahman will increase.

On Sunday (May 14), he informed the press conference at the party chairperson’s political office in Gulshan. BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan was also with the Secretary General at that time. In the press conference, the Secretary General of BNP urged the BNP leaders and workers to stand by the people affected by Cyclone Moka.

Regarding the case against Ziaur Rahman, he said that Sheikh Hasina and her cronies are carrying out various conspiracies to divert the anti-fascist movement. This case is just one disgusting example of that conspiracy. 48 years later a falsehood has been brought up again, completely on purpose. The intention is the same, when the people have started a movement to regain their democratic rights, when there is strong national and international pressure to hold elections under a neutral government, they are trying to mislead the nation by raising such a false issue.

Fakhrul said, Nahid Izhar Khan probably did not even read the book written by his own mother. Where his mother Nilufar Huda has clearly written in her book ‘Colonel Huda and My War’, what was the situation when Colonel Huda was killed. The testimony of people present there proves that on that day late President Ziaur Rahman ordered Colonel Nawazish to protect Khaled Musharraf, Colonel Nazmul Huda and Major ATM Haider.

He said, the cruel irony of history is – Colonel Huda’s daughter Nahid Izhar Khan, who as an MP of the fascist non-voting Parliament, has made her father’s murderer Hasanul Haque Inu, the Deputy Chief of Jasd-Gana Bahini, and Col. Rahman who ordered him to save his father. Even in the book written by his mother, he admitted to make their heads go crazy.

Commenting that there is a far-reaching political conspiracy behind this case, Fakhrul said, “I believe that if there is no conspiracy, the history of Nahid Izhar’s father would be different except for Inu Gong, the living commander of Jasd-Gana Bahini, who has risked the lives of army officers to resolve the conflict between soldiers and officers. The late President Ziaur Rahman would not have been dishonest with his father’s blood by ordering him to do so
