A motorcyclist was killed after being crushed by a truck wheel in South Surma of Sylhet. The incident took place on Sunday (May 14) around 12:30 noon at a place called Seven Mile in Lalabazar area of Sylhet-Dhaka highway.
The deceased is the son of deceased Altaf Ali of Bagaia Haor village of Goainghat upazila of Sylhet district. Jahangir Mia (42).
Dakshin Surma police officer-in-charge (OC) has confirmed its authenticity. Shamsuddoha (ppm). He said that at seven miles of Lalabazar area, Jahangir Mia lost control and fell on the road while overtaking a truck (Dhaka Metro-20-9308) with his motorcycle (Sylhet Metro-11-2060) at a reckless speed. Meanwhile, Jahangir was seriously injured by being crushed by the rear wheel of the truck. After getting information about the incident, the police and fire service team went to the spot and rescued Jahangir and sent him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Meanwhile, police seized the truck and motorcycle after the incident.
