Police Constable Sharif Uddin (35) and his wife were beaten up and sent to the hospital due to an earlier dispute in East Pail village of Habiganj Sadar. This incident happened last Thursday evening. Injured Sharif is a resident of that village and currently he is working at Sylhet Kotwali police station.

It is known that they have a dispute with Abdun Noor of the same village. As a result of this yesterday, a group of people including Abdun Noor, Mubarak Mia, Enam Mia, Amirul Haque, Imdadul Haque, Hamidul Haque found them alone near the mosque market near their house and hacked them to death according to a pre-planned plan. People rescued them and admitted them to the hospital. On receiving the news, SI Waheed Gazi went to the hospital and inquired about the injured.

Sadar OC said that legal action will be taken after looking into the matter.
