After the news against fake doctor Nantu Chandra Pal in Sadhurbazar of Rajiura Union of Sadar Upazila, the doctor escaped through the back door during the drug super raid. At this time, the signboard used for his doctor’s title was seized.
When news about this was published in various newspapers on Friday, a group of policemen including Drug Superintendent Zia Uddin raided the pharmacy on the orders of Civil Surgeon Nurul Haque Bhuya. Sensing their presence, the doctor runs away. Later the signboard used by him was opened and seized.
Incidentally, the simple people of the village are being cheated in the clutches of Nantu Chandra Pal. Besides, the said doctor is going from nothing to become the owner of millions of rupees.
Locals complain that Nantu Chandra Pal, the owner of Pal Pharmacy in Sadhur Bazar, has been treating various diseases using the title of doctor. Simple people from different villages including Sadhurbazar, Telikhal, Katakhali, Sukchar, Uchail, Shankar Pasha are being cheated by him. Many have been treated by him for more complex and incurable diseases.
Even though he is not a doctor, he is cheating by writing doctor before his name. According to the news, he is a village doctor. Did 6 months duration course. However, the use of signboards of doctor’s designation in the market is attracting patients. He has a ring of brokers. Those who brought the simple people of Gramganj to him through commission by talking about getting treatment for less money. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he is collecting extra money from many people. Many patients complain that he charges 200 rupees per visit. Treatment hours are 9 am to 2 pm, 4 pm to 9 pm. Allegedly, he is prescribing various unnecessary medicines to the patients even if it is not required. Medicines have to be bought again from his pharmacy. And by taking these medicines, many people are getting sick instead of getting cured.
