The president and general secretary of Sundarganj Krishak League has been dismissed

Gaibandhar Sunderganj Upazila Krishak League President Ataur Rahman Sarkar and General Secretary Bakul Biswas have been temporarily relieved.

This action has been taken against them for allegedly accepting lakhs of rupees in the name of providing houses under the government shelter scheme.

General Secretary of Gaibandha District Farmers League Deepak Kumar Pal confirmed the matter on Tuesday (May 2) afternoon.

Earlier on Monday (May 1), Gaibandha District Farmers League President Hasan Mahmud Siddique and General Secretary Deepak Kumar Pal signed this information.
It is mentioned that Sundarganj Upazila Krishak League President Ataur Rahman Sarkar and General Secretary Bakul Biswas filed a complaint filed by the leaders of Sundarganj Upazila Krishak League and that the president and general secretary have accepted money in the name of providing houses to landless people under Asrayan-2 project. News is published in social media and local newspapers.

In the current situation, with the advice of the departmental secretary and coordinator of the party, in order to resolve the situation and to keep the image of the organization intact, in accordance with the constitutional rules of Bangladesh Krishak League, Sunderganj Upazila Krishak League President Ataur Rahman Sarkar and General Secretary Bakul Biswas were temporarily exempted from their positions in the organization. All their organizational powers have been undermined, including giving.

In this regard, the general secretary of Gaibandha district Krishak League Deepak Kumar Pal said that the accused president and general secretary have been temporarily exempted. A show cause notice has also been issued. It has been asked to reply to the notice within the next seven days. At the same time Sundarganj Upazila Krishak League vice-president has been instructed to act as acting president and joint general secretary to perform the duties of acting general secretary.

It is to be noted that Bakul Biswas, the general secretary of Upazila Krishak League, extorted Tk 3 lakh 91 thousand from 13 families of helpless and day laborers of Sonara Union through union Krishak League president Jasim Uddin, showing the temptation of giving houses. Besides, the general secretary of upazila Krishak League Bakul Biswas accepted money through the president of Belka Union Krishak League of the upazila, Laili Begum, with the inducement of giving children allowance, elderly allowance, disabled allowance and houses along with land to the landless.

After the victims contacted repeatedly and did not get the money, the local crowd detained Bakul Biswas at Kanthaltali junction in the city last Friday (April 28) evening. Later, he escaped from the crowd by promising to pay money.
