It has been alleged that a child named Raihan Mia (12) was killed by his father in Madhavpur of Habiganj. The incident took place in Itakhola village of Noapara union of the upazila on Sunday (April 30) afternoon.

Raihan Mia is the son of Jahan Mia of Itakhola village. The police arrested Jahan Mia after receiving information about the incident.

Madhavpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Abdur Razzak told CNBangladesh, “Jahan Mia hit her son Raihan on the head with a piece of wood. Later, the injured child died on the way to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital.
He also said, “Jahan is being detained and brought to the police station for questioning.” It seems that he is mentally unstable in speech. Raihan’s body has been sent to Habiganj 250-bed district headquarters morgue for post-mortem.
