Abutaleb, a young man of Paschim Lalbagh village of Srimangal upazila, is making a living by making and selling various aesthetic show-pieces with his own hands from bamboo and discarded plastic bottles in Srimangal of Moulvibazar. He has been making a living by making home-enhancing show pieces out of various plastic bottles, bamboo and other materials thrown away by people and selling them.
He uses bamboo, plastic bottles, drinks pipes, paper, crocsheet, yarn, chumki, sweat and varnish to create various show-pieces including boats, vases, airplanes, helicopters, colorful birds, houses, mobile stands, pen holders. You are doing well by selling.
Abutaleb said, he collects bamboo, beth, paper, sweat and plastic bottles from different places and makes the things himself. The price of each product is determined by type, size, labor and style. His show-pieces are sold from 50 taka to 300 taka maximum. The income from this is used to buy various materials and the remaining expenses are spent. Handicraftsman Abutaleb also works on mobile phones, LED nose valves and charger lights in his shop.
Abutaleb also said that initially he used to repair charger lights, repair mobile phones and fix valve valves. Later, under the advice of Sultan Mahmud, the seat of Shath and Prakibeshi, he made plants and flowers out of discarded plastic bottles. Locals buy them from him as they are attractive to look at. As there was a demand for selling the flowers and plants he made, he later started making other things one by one. As his various attractive show pieces became popular with the locals, he later took up show piece making as a profession. In addition to these sales in the shop in front of his house, he has been selling at various fairs, wajs, and puja festivals nearby. These beautiful show pieces made by him are gifted to the school by school students as handicrafts.
