The political and economic situation of Bangladesh has become uncertain. We need to understand the situation and take measures. The state, the government party together are united. Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has commented that there are indications of deep unrest in the political sky. He said that the government should take initiatives to improve the situation. In this situation, political stability is not possible without acceptable elections. The goal of Jatiya Party is to establish a society based on good governance and justice in the country. We do politics in the interest of the country and the people. People are looking at us.
He said these things at the Eid reunion event organized by the party’s Dhaka Metropolitan North at the Jatiya Party’s office in Banani on Saturday (April 29).
GM Quader said, we are preparing for elections in 300 seats. Not only those who want to be candidates will be evaluated. Candidates who will do good work organizationally will be given priority. Referring to the five city corporation elections, he said, we will participate in every city corporation election. I have already given candidates to Gazipur City Corporation. The expectation of the people and our leaders and workers is that we will win if the elections are fair. But ordinary people say, we can vote? Will the results of voting be revealed through the voter? These are the questions common voters ask us. Whether the election will be voted properly, whether it will be obstructed. Referring to the common people’s lack of trust in the electoral system, JPA Chairman said that the parliamentary elections were held in Chittagong-8 constituencies two days ago. Voter turnout was only 10 percent. 90 percent of the voters did not turn up at the polling stations. Voters have no confidence in their votes. Yesterday’s election is proof of that. In this situation, political stability is not possible without acceptable elections. The government should take initiatives to improve the situation.
Jatiya Party presidium member and Northern convener Shafiqul Islam Sentu presided over and Jatiya Party vice chairman and member secretary Jahangir Alam Pathan also spoke at the event. Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan and others.
