Discussions about Mahmudullah and Afif, who are out of the national team ahead of the ODI World Cup, are not over yet. Young cricketers are playing in the team. In these few days, Mahmudullah’s place in the national team has been occupied by others. Although there are still many opportunities in front of Afif, everyone’s question is whether Riyad will stay in the World Cup.

But head coach Chandika Hathurusinghe is not seeing the end of them now. The Sri Lankan coach is still thinking about both of them. Hathurusinghe said that Mahmudullah Riyad has not been excluded from the idea of the World Cup yet.

A few days ago, BCB director Khaled Mahmud Sujan said that he does not see Mahmudullah in the World Cup team. He told the reporters, ‘Riyad is definitely a very important cricketer for us. He has won many matches for the Bangladesh team. But if I’m honest, since he’s not in the national team, I’m not seeing him in the World Cup. Because if I had seen him in the World Cup (Ireland) would have been in these series.’

Hathurusinghe spoke about Mahmudullah with the media at the end of the three-day training camp in Sylhet today. Bangladesh coach is in the same position as before, ‘What I said earlier is the same. They are all listed. Everyone will get a chance to come and play before the World Cup. We still haven’t changed that mindset.’

The World Cup is less than six months away. But the schedule has not been officially released yet, the venue has not been announced. Is there a problem with the plan?

In response to such questions, Hathurusinghe said, ‘It is not just us. Affecting everyone involved with the World Cup. I think India will announce soon. If announced soon, it will help us to have a clear idea.’
