SSC and equivalent exams start from April 30 of this year

This year’s SSC and equivalent exams will start from April 30, Education Minister Dr. Dipumani said. He said this at a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute on Tuesday (April 25).
The Education Minister said that all coaching centers will be closed from April 26 to May 23 to make the upcoming SSC and equivalent exams fair, fair and free from cheating. Although this exam is held in the first week of February every year, due to Corona, it was not possible to take the exam on time this year like last year. But this time the exam will be held with full marks and time on short syllabus. This year the number of candidates is 20 lakh 72 thousand 163.
At this time Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury, Senior Secretary of Technical and Madrasa Education Department. Kamal Hossain, Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department. Soleman Khan, Director General of Secondary and Higher Education Department Prof. Nehal Ahmed, Dhaka Education Board Chairman Prof. Tapan Kumar Sarkar were present.
The Ministry of Education has said that this exam will be held on the revised syllabus due to Corona.
From the last few years, the SSC and equivalent examinations were started in the beginning of February and HSC and equivalent examinations in the beginning of April, but in 2020 it was delayed due to the corona virus.
In a press conference at the International Mother Language Institute, the Minister of Education said that compared to last year, the total number of examinees is 20,72,163, an increase of 50,295. The number of centers and institutions has increased to 3 thousand 810 and 29 thousand 798 respectively.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the SSC and equivalent exams have been held with a shortened syllabus for the past two years. However, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has released the revised syllabus for this year’s examination. And the board announced the schedule. According to the schedule, this year’s SSC and equivalent exams are starting next Sunday (April 30).
Dr. Dipu Moni said that even though the syllabus has been rearranged this year, the exam of 100 marks will be held in 3 hours in all subjects.
Apart from this, it has not yet been decided whether the 2024 HSC examination will be conducted with the restructured or full syllabus. The Education Minister said that efforts are underway to conduct the SSC and HSC exams on time next year.
