Bangalore could not make a record. A win would have been a record for Royal Challengers Bangalore. But it didn’t happen anymore after going to the shore and drowning. Chasing a target of 227 runs, the team led by Faf du Plessis can score 218 runs. Chennai Super Kings won by just 8 runs.
Bengaluru were on their way to victory chasing the target of huge runs. At the end of 12 overs, Bengaluru’s collection was 141 runs for 2 wickets. 86 runs were needed from the last 48 balls to win. Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis were batting for 76 and 54 runs.
After that, when Maxwell and du Plessis were out, Bengaluru were virtually knocked out of the match. Maxwell returned with 76 runs off 36 balls with 8 sixes and three fours. Captain Faf du Plessis scored 62 runs off 33 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes.
Dinesh Karthik, however, was dreaming of winning the team by scoring 28 runs off 14 balls with three fours and one six. After his dismissal, Bengaluru were completely knocked out of the match.
