The Election Commission said that journalists cannot use motorcycles on polling day. Besides, there is a ban on broadcasting live from the polling station. There is also a condition that not more than two people enter the polling station at the same time, and they do not stay for more than a certain time.

At least eight months before the twelfth parliamentary elections, the ‘journalism policy’ finalized for national and local elections has mentioned these issues. According to this policy, Election Commission authorized card holders must follow at least a dozen instructions to go to the polling station and collect information.

According to the policy signed by Assistant Director of Election Commission Public Relations Branch Ashadul Haque on Wednesday, it will be applicable for general elections and by-elections of Jatiya Sangsad, Upazila Parishad, City Corporation, Zilla Parishad, Municipal Council and Union Parishad. If a journalist does not follow the instructions, the commission can cancel his pass. Action can also be taken against him and the organization according to the election laws and rules.
