2 killed in a bus-charger van collision in Pirganj

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a charger in Rangpur’s Pirganj. Besides, 1 other person was seriously injured. The incident took place at a place called Jamtala on the Dhaka Rangpur highway of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge of Baradarga Highway police station confirmed the incident.
The deceased are Mokleshar Rahman (40), a battery-powered charger van driver of Mahadipur village in Raipur union of the upazila, and Rezwan Islam (16), son of Alam Mia of Kishoregari village in Pirganj Sadar union of the same upazila. Baradarga Highway police station arrested the killer bus in this incident.
The police and eyewitnesses said that yesterday morning at around 11:30 a.m. on Dhaka-Rangpur highway, a passenger bus headed to Rangpur that left Pabna from Pabna and reached the accident site, collided head-on with the charger van and the bus. The driver of the charger van and the passenger of the van died on the spot. Later, Baradarga Highway Police recovered the bodies of the victims from the spot.
In this regard, Baradargah Highway Police Station OC Solaiman Sheikh said – the killer bus has been impounded. The bodies of the deceased have been handed over to their relatives.
