CIG Congress held at Kumarkhali

CIG Congress was organized by Upazila Agriculture Extension Directorate under National Agricultural Technology Program Phase-2 (NATP-2) with the farmers at Kumarkhali in Kushtia keeping in mind the theme ‘Krishi ei Samriddhi’. Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Debashish Kumar Das presided over the congress held at local Abul Hossain Tarun Auditorium on Tuesday (April 11). Under the supervision of Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Md. Rabiul Islam, the chief guest spoke about the activities of the current agriculture-friendly government. Hayat Mahmud, Deputy Director, Directorate of Agricultural Extension, Kushtia. Kushtia District Training Officer of Agriculture Extension Directorate, Agronomist Md. Abul Karim, Upazila Parishad Women Vice Chairman Marina Akhtar Meena and others spoke as special guests. Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Agronomist Md. Raisul Islam gave a welcome address to the Congress. At this time, he expressed his feelings among the farmers and expressed his action plan. In the program, by making CIGs more powerful and effective, creating areas of coordination and establishing permanent links between CIGs in development support activities, increasing the sustainability and encouraging sustainability of CIGs by establishing unity and collective initiatives. Speakers in the event also said that CIG can receive various government agricultural benefits by adopting and spreading new technologies to farmer groups and investing in their various sub-projects on the basis of savings to increase agricultural productivity. 150 people including leaders of 120 CIG groups from 11 unions of the upazila were present in the event.
