Easter Sunday is celebrated in Kumarkhali

The Christian community of Bangladesh is also celebrating the day with due religious dignity, with a message of pure joy and peace. Easter Sunday, one of the most important religious festivals of the Christian community, was celebrated in the morning at Kumarkhali in Kushtia organized by Bangladesh Christian Association Kushtia district branch and with the cooperation of upazila administration Kumarkhali. On the occasion of the day, special prayers were held at Children of Light Church and Batikamara Faith Bible Church of Maliat village of Sadaki Union on Sunday. The celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ begins on Saturday night. Like other countries of the world, the Christians of Bangladesh also started celebrating the day late at night with due dignity. The ceremony began at sunrise on Sunday with special prayers at Children of Light Church in Maliat village of Sadaki Union in Kumarkhali and at 10:00 am at Batikamara Faith Bible Church. After that, Reverend Pastor Zaker ALi Shuva highlighted various religious topics including the reading from the Holy Bible, the significance of the resurrection day of Jesus Christ. Upazila Nirbahi Officer UNO (Acting) and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Kumarkhali, Md. Amirul Arafat was the chief guest on the occasion. At this time, the chief guest wished everyone a happy Easter Sunday and expressed the hope that the spirit of Easter will play a special role in bringing world peace and pure joy, forgiveness, and brotherhood to the believers. Sudhanshu Kumar Ghosh, President of Kumarkhali Upazila Branch of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Parishad and others were also present at this time. The morning worship started auspiciously with the song ‘Eso Sabe Gahi Vijay Gan’ and after the song ‘Bangla, Bangla Moder Janmabhoomi Bangladesh’, the General Secretary of Bangladesh Christian Association Kushtia District Branch and pastor of Children of Light Church ministered the holy word in the worship. Reverend Pastor Zaker ALi Shuva and Bangladesh Christian Association Kushtia District Branch Religious Affairs Secretary Pastor David Sarkar conducted the program. The people of the Christian community are re-energised on Easter Sunday. There is a festive atmosphere in their homes. Arrangement of various meals along with exchange of greetings to each other.
