BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, “We are not interested in this matter.” Because we have clearly said that the main crisis of the nation is the issue of the government during the election. The main crisis is what kind of government will be there during the election period. This is why our democracy has been destroyed, the country has moved away from the spirit that was the root of freedom.

He said these things in a brief speech before Iftar at the Ladies Club of the capital on Monday (April 3). This iftar and doa mahfil was organized by BNP in honor of the leaders of various political parties.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, the words that we are saying in agreement with many political parties is that those who are not elected by the people’s vote and do not believe in democracy must resign. Parliament should be abolished, power should be transferred to a non-partisan neutral government. The caretaker government will form a new Election Commission, under which a people’s government will be established through a fair election.

He said, we fought the freedom war in 1971 for a democratic state. All the hopes and aspirations of the war spirit have been dashed today. We have clearly understood that the regime that was established in the past by Bakshal is now again plotting to establish a one-party regime by taking away all the rights of the people.

BNP Secretary General said that the people of this country have never accepted dictatorship. Today the people of Bangladesh have started fighting for their rights. We believe that all political parties, formations, individuals will participate in that struggle to claim their rights and claim their rights.

Mirza Fakhrul said, today a suffocating situation has developed in the whole country. I’m not just talking about BNP, I’m not talking about any general party. Today even common people are not safe from torture.

Criticizing the government, he said that a cloud of economic development has been created by fooling the people and building a mountain of corruption. Today’s corruption has reached such a level that foreign newspapers have similarly highlighted those issues.

Mirza Fakhrul said, today Mr. Motiur Rahman saw that the editor of Prothom Alo, the most popular newspaper in the country, filed a case under the Digital Security Act in his name, the reporter of the newspaper, Shamsuzzaman Shams, was arrested. Although they got bail. You remember the editor of Amar Desh, Mahmudur Rahman, was tortured and forced to leave the country. A woman from Naogaon, a government employee, was picked up by RAB. It is not known till now, and within 36 hours of being picked up, she died of torture, she was killed.
