Bangladesh’s dream of whitewash became dusty

Bangladesh lost badly against Ireland on Friday (March 31). The dream of whitewash was shattered.
Ireland beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong. Captain Paul Stirling played a devastating innings of 77 runs in 41 balls with the bat. They reached the port of victory with 36 balls left.
Bangladesh scored a record run by batting after losing the toss in the first two matches. Shakib won the toss and batted in the last match. However, the opening pair of Liton Das and Roni Talukder did not gel. Opener Lytton 4, Nazmul Shanto returned with 5 runs. Then Rony Talukder was out for 14 and Shakib Al Hasan scored 4 runs.
Bangladesh lost five wickets for 41 runs when Tawheed Hriday returned with 12 runs. Bangladesh scored 64 runs in 10 overs and lost seven wickets. Debutant leg-spinner Rishad 8 and Taskin returned with zero.
At the other end was Shamim Hossain Patwari, who dropped to six. He got out as the last batter. Played an innings of 51 runs in 42 balls with five fours and two sixes. Besides, Nasum Ahmed scored 13 runs. Bangladesh were all out for 124 runs with four balls to spare.
