Law Minister Anisul Haque said regarding the case against the Prothom Alo journalist under the Digital Security Act, the case that has been filed or is being filed, I want to tell you that what is being done is not against journalists, but against injustice. You are fearless journalists I admit it. This government will not stop the journalists in any way if you reveal the truth to the people.

The Law Minister said this in response to a question while talking to reporters at the Secretariat on Thursday (March 30). Home Minister was also present at this time.

The Law Minister said, when the information is given in the Digital Security Act case, if there is no prima facie case (primary truth), then the prima facie case will be sent to the cell for determination and the case will be taken after the examination of the cell. But yesterday (Wednesday) if you have seen the details of the case filed under the Digital Security Act, then the information of the case filed under the Digital Security Act was in that report. In that case, this case is accepted as there is no need to send it for examination.

In response to another question, the Law Minister said, “If you talk about the Digital Security Act in the case of Naogaon, then I want to clarify one thing.” That is, the lady who was picked up from Naogaon, but there was no Digital Security Act case against her. He must have been unlucky not to have had a Digital Security Act case when he died. The case was filed the next day. So the Digital Security Act has been misused here. No prosecution was conducted in this case. But my point is that women are not caught by Digital Security Act.

He also said that there are two cases (misuse of Digital Security Act). We are taking action. Wherever we see that this law is being misused, we are taking steps to stop it.
