A human chain was held demanding a fair and impartial investigation into the death of Sultana Jasmine, office assistant of the Naogaon Union Land Office in RAB custody.

The program was organized by the Nagarik (Sujan) District Committee for Good Governance next to Mukti Mor Shahid Minar in Naogaon city at 10 am on Thursday.

Under the chairmanship of Sujan’s Vice President Principal Abdur Rahman, General Secretary of the organization AK Saju, Legal Affairs Secretary Advocate Minhajul Islam and President of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front Mizanur Rahman spoke at Manabbandhan.

The speakers said, if Sultana Jasmine has done wrong, she will be tried according to the law. He was detained only on the basis of the complaint. which violated human rights and democratic rights. They showed thumbs up to the rule of law. Rajshahi Division Joint Secretary Enamul used RAB to satisfy his personal grudges. Sultana doubts whether justice will be done in Jasmine’s death.

The speakers demanded an immediate fair and impartial investigation of this incident and exemplary punishment of those involved in the incident.

Sultana Jasmine is an office assistant in the land office. He was working in Naogaon Municipality and Chandipur Union Land Office. He lived in a rented house in Jankalyan Mahalla of the city. He used to travel to office regularly from this house.

RAB arrested Sultana Jasmine from Mukti Mor area of the city on her way to office last Wednesday morning. After 12 noon that day, the family members came to know that Sultana was under treatment at Naogaon Sadar Hospital. He was taken to Rajshahi Medical College (Ramek) Hospital as his condition was critical. He died on Friday morning while undergoing treatment in ICU at Ramek Hospital. After the post-mortem on Saturday, the body was buried in the Naogaon government cemetery in the afternoon. After that, her relatives accused RAB of taking custody of Jasmine and torturing her to death.
