A helpless family of Paikkhongpara under Sadar Union under Bandarban Rowangchari Upazila has been given medical assistance to a crippled child with the help of Bandarban Army Zone.Christiang Bawm was suffering from incurable skin disease for a long time. As soon as Bandarban Sena Zone received the news, the family along with the child immediately started medical assistance through Bandarban Sadar Hospital and said that Army Zone will bear the entire medical expenses of the child.Christiyang Bawm, the adorable baby,is only 18 days old.He is said to be the child of Pithor Bom Karbari and Mangai Pangkhua. The army brought the child to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment on Wednesday (March 29) at around 2 pm.Later,he was admitted to the children’s ward under the supervision of duty doctor Jewel Tripura. During this time, all the necessary medicines of the child were bought with the financial support of Bandarban Army Zone and the Bandarban Army Zone also assured the family of the child that any kind of support would be provided from Army Zone in the future.Meanwhile, on Thursday (March 30) at 11 am,Bandarban Army Zone RMO Captain Md. Asadul Islam visited Bandarban Sadar Hospital and inquired about the current physical condition of the child. Captain Md.Asadul Islam said in reply to a question of the journalists that we went to the remote Paikxyongpara for a medical campaign a few days ago.Our best efforts were to provide better medical services to the poor and underprivileged people in remote areas, but at that time there was no any People available in that village. He said when we came to know that a child who was born in a coma in that village was suffering from an incurable skin disease and was being deprived of medical care.At the initiative of the army, the child was taken to Bandarban Sadar Hospital for better treatment. It is to be noted that the local people living in the remote villages of several upazilas including Rowangchari have already left their homes and taken refuge in remote areas in the barren forests due to the fear of the mountain armed organization KNF.Because of which all those families are now deprived of safe water, food and medical services and are living inhumane lives.According to the army, in the current situation, the army zone is constantly monitoring the situation so that no people living in remote hilly areas are deprived of medical services.
