The Tigers advanced 1-0 in the series by defeating the Irish by 22 runs in a rain-hit match at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Monday (March 27). After losing the toss and batting first, the Tigers scored 207 runs for 5 wickets in 19.2 overs and the game was stopped due to rain. Later, the Irish were set a target of 104 runs in 8 overs by the Duckworth-Lewis method. Chasing this run, the visitors stopped after losing 5 wickets and scoring 81 runs.

Two Irish openers Paul Stirling and Ross Adair got off to a good start with the bat. Wicketkeeper Batter Lorcon Tucker returned to Sajghar for 1 run in the next over after Adair returned with 13 runs from 10 balls. Skipper Stirling bounced back with a blistering innings of 17 runs off 8 balls. 19 runs came from the bat of Harry Tector. Gareth Delaney scored the team’s maximum 21 runs. Pacer Taskin Ahmed took 4 wickets for the Tigers and Hasan Mahmud took one wicket.
