Great Independence and National Day-23 was celebrated in Bandarban with due dignity.On Sunday (March 26) at sunrise, Minister for Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing (MP) Started the day by offering floral tributes to the portrait of the Father of the Nation at Bandarban Zilla Parishad’s Liberation War Monument and Bangabandhu Muktmanch. At The Same Time Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji,Superintendent of Police Md.Tariqul Islam,PPM,Municipal Mayor Md.Islam Baby,Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Shajia Afroz,freedom fighter Association,District Sports Organization and other public and private departments paid floral tributes. Deputy Commissioner Yasmin Parvin Tibriji auspiciously inaugurated the parade and sports competition and award distribution ceremony at Bandarban district stadium at 8 am on the occasion of the day. Superintendent of Police Md.Tariqul Islam, Ppm along with senior officers of various government and private departments and teachers and students of various educational institutions were present in the parade and award distribution ceremony. On the same day in the evening,A reception and Iftar mahfil was held in honor of the brave freedom fighters and the family members of the martyrs on the initiative of the district administration.Also,Bandarban Hill District Council,Bandarban District Awami League and its affiliated organizations have celebrated the day through various programs along with the district administration on the occasion of great Independence and National Day.
