Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has commented that BNP wants to question every election. He said this in the president’s speech at the discussion meeting organized by Awami League on the occasion of Great Independence and National Day at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Monday (March 27).

The Prime Minister said that BNP, which came to power illegally, now wants democracy. BNP wants to question every election. BNP wants to question the election without knowing that it will win. Crying to foreigners will not put them in power. Bangladesh had a culture of illegal seizure of power. Those who have come into politics through illegal power grab today are the ones who pretend to be democracy!

He said that it is the character of BNP to complain not only inside the country but also outside the country. They think that someone from outside the country will put them in power. People of Bangladesh are aware now. Complaining to foreigners will not help.

At the time, he said, during the Awami League, Bangladesh is now a role model for development in the world. No one could and will not be able to keep Bangladesh in check. Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had only one goal in his life – that the people of this country should get food, clothes, shelter, medical treatment, better life. He brought us this freedom with that goal in mind.

Bangabandhu’s daughter said, today is 53 years of our independence. Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman started the movement in 1948 for the right to speak in our mother tongue, he gradually inspired the people of this country to the spirit of freedom. Responding to his call, the people of Bengal took up arms and made this country independent.

The Prime Minister said, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib gave us a state, gave us status as a nation, gave us an opportunity to identify ourselves in the world court. He dedicated his own life for the exploited and deprived people of Bangladesh. He wanted to change their fate, bring smiles to the faces of miserable people. And for these reasons he brought freedom to the people of this country.
