The police have arrested a youth in Baniachang for allegedly killing a friend and trying to hide his body over a debt.

This incident happened last Friday (24 March) night in Ikram village in the upazila.

The name of the deceased youth is Vishnu Sarkar (19). He is the son of Prananath Sarkar of Begunai village of Lakhai upazila.

The name of the accused killer is Minnat Ali (25). He is the son of Liaquat Ali of Ikram village.

It is known that Minnat Ali was a friend of Vishnu Sarkar. On that occasion, Vishnu took 20 thousand taka from Minnat. The two had an argument at Minnat’s house last Friday around 2 o’clock about the return of this money. At one point Minnat hit Vishnu on the head with a spade and he died. Later, while burying the body in the ground with the family members, the locals caught him and reported to the police station. Later, a group of police from Sujatpur outpost went to the spot and arrested Minnat Ali, but the accomplices escaped. The body was sent to the morgue for post-mortem on Saturday. Meanwhile, detained Minnat Ali confessed to the police about the incident. He is scheduled to be produced in court on Sunday. The murder case is being prepared in this incident.
