BRTC bus loses control, crashes into electric pole and tree: 2 killed

The BRTC bus lost control and hit an electric pole and fell into a ditch in Rajapur’s Kanudashkathi area. The bus supervisor and a passenger were killed. Besides, at least 15 people were injured.
The deceased are BRTC bus supervisor Mehdi Hasan and passenger Pavel. Police and fire service rescued the injured and admitted them to Bhandaria Upazila Health Complex.
Traffic stopped there for half an hour after the accident at around 10:30 on Friday morning. Police and fire service personnel rescued the injured and admitted them to Bhandaria Upazila Health Complex.
Injured bus passengers said that the bus started its journey from Barisal to Patharghata in the morning. After leaving, the driver, helper and supervisors had several arguments. Due to this, the driver was driving the car at a reckless speed.
At one point, the bus lost control and collided with an electric pole and a tree at Kanudashkathi area of Barisal-Patharghata road. The bus fell into the ditch.
The bus driver Sabu Molla (40), Sathi (33), Emu (20), Momena (45), Tanjila (31), Amal Debnath (58), Montu Howladar (55), Shahidul Khan (57), Rahul were injured in the accident. (40), Jahanara Begum (55), Kabir Mollah (35), Kauchar (32) and Rita Debnath (35). Two of the injured have been sent to Barisal Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital. Four people have been admitted to Bhandaria Hospital and others have been given first aid.
Abdus Sobahan, assistant officer of Bhandaria Fire Service and Civil Defense, said that BRTC bus supervisor Mehdi and a passenger named Pavel were killed in the accident.
Rajapur Police Station OC Pulik Chandra Roy said that the supervisor of the bus and one passenger of the bus were killed on the spot. Besides, at least 10-12 passengers were injured. If the traffic stops due to an accident, the police immediately arranges the traffic.
