As soon as lightning strikes in the sky, the ground power goes out in Habiganj. This is nothing new. This has been going on for the past few years but has not been resolved. Rather, it is increasing day by day. But if the electricity bill is not paid for 1 to 3 months, the line is disconnected and the customers are harassed with lawsuits. Additional fines are also payable. But electricity does not last 12 hours out of 24 hours.

Ramadan begins today. Ordinary people have to use water for various activities including Tarabi, Iftar and Sehri. This requires electricity. But most of the day there is no electricity, even if there is low voltage. Because of which customers are disappointed. Customers are suffering because they are busy or do not receive calls to the complaint center repeatedly.

When it started raining yesterday afternoon, lightning flashed in the sky. Immediately, the city’s electricity went out. After 10/15 minutes the rain stopped but electricity did not come. Electricity was supplied to different areas of the city around 6 pm. However, there was no electricity supply in different areas even during Tarawi prayers. The worshipers also prayed with difficulty. Some people perform ablution in the pond or from their homes and pray.

In this regard, Assistant Engineer Rakibul Hasan told CNBangladesh that due to the storm, electricity supply was stopped in Shahjibazar due to a tree falling on the power line. If there is no electricity in any area, he asked to inform the complaint center. But the complaint center did not receive the call.
