Shahab Uddin said Bangladesh is the first choice for the European RMG importers to import quality apparels within a reasonable price across overseas. Last year, Bangladesh exported one billion US dollar worth of software to western countries. Bangladesh is now the 35th largest Economy of the World. Despite the hardship from the pandemic, our economy managed to grow at a rate of 7.1% during the last fiscal year. The GDP per capita is now 2840 US Dollar, four times greater than what we had a decade ago.

Environment Minister said this as the chief guest in a programme arranged by Bangladesh Embassy to Denmark on the occasion of the 52nd Anniversary of the Independence and National Day of Bangladesh Tuesday afternoon at the Everest Ballroom 1, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Oerested, Copenhagen, Denmark.

Environment Minister said the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dedicated his entire life to freeing his people and championing the legitimate rights of the oppressed and his very competent daughter our Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has led Bangladesh from ashes to a Middle-Income country within her tenure in the government. The people of Bangladesh are now striving towards a developed Smart Bangladesh by the year 2041 as envisioned by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Shahab Uddin said Bangladesh and Denmark marked the 50th year of Diplomatic relations last year. Denmark is a major development partner of Bangladesh as it continues to provide valuable support to Bangladesh’s economic development by providing technical and financial assistance in diverse sectors. Denmark is now one of the largest destinations of export from Bangladesh, and it is matter of satisfaction that the bilateral trade between the two countries has crossed over one billion US Dollar during the last fiscal year.
