A farmer named Abdul Jabbar (60) was killed by his wife due to a family dispute in Kapasia, Gazipur. The incident took place in Belashi village of Rayed Union of the upazila on Monday morning. He is the son of deceased Azgar Ali of that village.

The name of the accused is Achma Akhter (45). She is the second wife of deceased Abdul Jabbar.

Local UP member said. Kamal Hossain said that about 12 years ago Emarat Hossain, the younger son of deceased Azgar Ali of Belashi village died. Later, his wife Achma Akhtar, the mother of four children, married Abdul Jabbar, the father of five children and the elder brother of deceased Emarat Hossain. After the marriage, Abdul Jabbar often quarreled with Achma Akhtar over land related matters. Abdul Jabbar was forced to leave the house when there was a big fight between them last Sunday evening. Later on Monday afternoon, when he came home to take the mobile phone, they started talking and arguing again. At one point, Jabbar died on the spot when Achma Akhtar grabbed her husband’s testicles. At that time, the people around came and informed the police station and the police recovered the body from the spot and brought it to the police station. Asma is absconding since the incident.

Kapasia police station OC AFM Nasim said the body has been sent to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Legal action in this regard is under process.
