“The country is on the brink of famine due to the corruption of the ruling Bakshali government”
Sylhet Bureau/
BNP Vice Chairman Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad Bir Bikram said, “The country is on the brink of famine today due to the boundless corruption of the ruling Bakshali government. This government has no problem with public suffering as it is not elected by popular vote. They know they can never come to power by popular vote. So, to take revenge on the people, the government is increasing the price of electricity abnormally.
Due to the boundless failure of the government in the management of the country and corruption and looting, the life of the people has become miserable due to the increase in daily commodities. This Awami League cannot be allowed to remain in power. Because they are destroying the interests of the country to stay in power. They are plotting to come to power by force. BNP will not go to national elections with Awami League in power. Any kind of fraudulent election will be stopped along with the patriotic masses.”
He said, “The country’s reserves are decreasing day by day. Government ministers and MPs are making mountains of money abroad. As a result, the country’s economy is deteriorating day by day. This country is not Awami League alone. President Ziaur Rahman has established multi-party democracy in the country. Awami League has completely destroyed that democracy. Under the leadership of Begum Khaleda Zia and Tariq Rahman, the democracy restoration movement is going on in the country. The 10-point demand announced by BNP is the manifesto of the movement to return people’s voting rights. Today, the whole nation is united in the 10-point demand. The government has no option but to accept the demand.”
