British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak termed China as the biggest threat to economic interests.
China definitely poses the biggest threat to our economic interests, he said. Not only that, it has also emerged as a systemic challenge to the global system.
Sunak was interviewed by NBC News’ Lester Holt at the USS Midway Museum during a recent visit to the United States.
In this, he said, the behavior we have seen in China in recent times is really worrying. China continues to operate in an ultra-authoritarian manner at home; And other countries are showing more stubbornness.
The British Prime Minister said that China and Russia are a “systemic challenge” to the current world order. But “Britain is back on its feet” and ready to face any challenge.
Britain has also called China a ‘new era challenge’ in its new foreign policy.
Meanwhile, Britain has announced an additional $6 billion increase in defense spending ‘against threats’ from Russia and China. In a statement, the British Prime Minister said that the main reason behind the need for high defense spending in Britain is the threat from China and Russia.
According to him, the increase in defense spending by another $6 billion is mainly a new plan for foreign, defense and security spending, which is considered to counter threats from Russia and China.
