Chittagong Hill Tract Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushaisingh MP has inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 19 development works including educational and religious institutions, roads, Buddhist Viharas, irrigation drains in Naikhongchhari Upazila of Bandarban. On Tuesday, these development works were inaugurated by unveiling a plaque at Baraitli High School ground of Ghumdhum Union. Later Ghumdhum Union attended a public meeting organized by Awami League. He said that after the present government came to power, there has been great development in the hills like the rest of the country. Only in the bordering upazilas, a total of Tk 321 crore development work has been done, including the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Tk 115 crore, LGED Tk 160 crore and Zilla Parishad Tk 46 crore. He urged to elect Sheikh Hasina again in the future to continue this development. Upazila Executive Officer Romen Sharma, Zilla Parishad Member Mozammel Haque Bahadur, Kanu Aung Chak, Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board Executive Engineer Abu Bin Mohammad Yashir Arafat, Local Government Engineering Directorate Executive Engineer Ziaul Haque Majumdar spoke as special guests. District Awami League member Taslim Iqbal Chowdhury moderated it. Ghumdhum Union Parishad Chairman AKM Jahangir Aziz presided over it.
