Manipuri language festival celebrated in Kamalganj

Manipuri language festival was celebrated in Kamalganj of Moulvibazar on Friday (March 10). Shahena Begum, Acting Head Teacher of Tetigaon Rashid Uddin High School, inaugurated the festival by hoisting the national flag and the flag of Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad at 10:30 am. Later, a large rally from the school premises met again at the school premises after patrolling the main road of Adampur Bazar.
Written test of Manipuri language was held at 11:30 am in the morning with the participation of 150 students of 1st-8th (a branch) and 9th-10th (b branch). At 4 pm in Tetigaon Rashid Uddin High School Auditorium under the chairmanship of poet and essayist AK Sheram, president of the organization and general secretary. National Sports Council secretary Parimal Singh was the chief guest at the cultural program, discussion meeting and award distribution session conducted by Nambram Shankar. Shahena Begum, Acting Principal of Rashid Uddin High School, Teitaigaon, Saleh Elahi Kuti, former president of Moulvibazar Press Club, Md. Mostafizur Rahman, General Secretary of Kamalganj Press Club and famous poet N Ratan Mitai of Manipur state of India were special guests. It should be noted that the Manipuri language festival has been celebrated since 2008. Among others, Canadian expatriate Manipuri language researcher Natasha, Manipuri writer and poet Haji Abdus Samad and others spoke.
