‘Political field is open to all’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that the field of politics has been opened for all parties. All parties are able to hold meetings as the political arena is open to all. Awami League does not believe in coming to power through conspiracies. They do not believe in coming to power through muscle and gun barrel. Awami League has always believed that the people are its main strength. Awami League will come to power again through people’s vote-ballot. At the same time, the country will move forward under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
He made these comments while inaugurating the newly constructed office of the Jessore Police Superintendent at around 2 pm on Saturday. A 4-storey modern police superintendent’s office building has been constructed at a cost of Tk 8.3 million in the central Shahid Minar area of the city.
The Home Minister also said that the manner in which the present government is suppressing or controlling terrorist activities is being appreciated globally. Together with law enforcement and community police members, we have successfully countered terrorism and militancy. The government has turned the police into a people’s force. The country’s police stations are being modernized gradually. Various technological facilities have been attached to enhance police efficiency.
State Minister of Local Government Department Swapan Bhattacharya, President of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Ministry Benazir Ahmed MP, Senior Secretary of Public Security Department Aminul Islam Khan, DIG of Khulna Range Moinul Haque spoke on the occasion. Superintendent of Police Praloy Kumar Jowardar gave the welcome address.
