Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam Haji Harish Bin Othman and Ambassador of Republic of Kosovo Gunar Urea paid a courtesy call on Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury.
Today, Saturday (March 4), Mayor Sisik welcomed the ambassadors of the two countries at the city hall. Amicable talks discuss maintaining friendly relations between countries and making cultural exchanges.
Meanwhile, Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that tourists from Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Kosovo can come to Sylhet, a spiritual and touristic city. They will be mesmerized by our natural beauty. At the same time, the mayor assured all cooperation to develop commercial relations with Sylhet.
Sisik Mayor proposed to develop ‘Sister City’ relationship with Sylhet City Corporation, Dhaka-based Brunei Darussalam and Republic of Kosovo City Council.
Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam Haji Harish bin Othman said that Brunei takes skilled and unskilled workers from Bangladesh in various fields.
In this context, Sisik Mayor said, Sylhet City Corporation has launched Bholananda-Uttaran Technical Training Center to create skilled manpower. Skilled manpower will be created from here. Brunei may sign a memorandum of understanding to take over our workers. In this regard, Sylhet City Corporation will give full cooperation.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo Gunar Urea called on Cicik Mayor to maintain friendly relations with Bangladesh and Sylhet in business and other matters of his country.
