Police Memorial Day celebrated in Moulvibazar

Police Memorial Day was celebrated in Moulvibazar. On Wednesday (March 1) at 11:30 am, ‘Police Memorial Day’ was observed in Moulvibazar District Police Lines in memory of the policemen who sacrificed themselves while on duty with respect and love. District Police Superintendent Mohammad Zakaria laid wreaths at the temporary monument built at the Moulvibazar District Police Lines ground in memory of the policemen who sacrificed their lives and paid tribute to the martyred policemen. After the wreath laying, the Superintendent of Police and all present observed a minute’s silence at the temporary memorial. Later, Moulvibazar District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria presided over the memorial service organized by Additional Superintendent of Police Sudarshan Kumar Roy. Later, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria handed over honors and gifts to the families of SI Kanchan Dev, Constable Iman Ali and Constable Helal Uddin who died in the line of duty. District CID Special Superintendent of Police Nutan Chakma, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Sudarshan Kumar Roy, Additional Superintendent of Police (Kulaura Circle) Dipankar Ghosh, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Srimangal Circle) Md Shahidul Haque Munshi, Assistant Superintendent of Police (Tourist Police Moulvibazar Zone) Sahidul Islam and various ranks of police officers and police members of the district were present.
It should be noted that 121 members of different levels of police have sacrificed their lives in Bangladesh in 2022 while on duty. Since 2017 this day (March 1) has been observed as Police Memorial Day.
