A motorcycle riding husband and wife were killed after being hit by a bus in Netrakona’s Atpara. Their baby daughter was injured. The accident took place on Netrokona-Madan road in Khajanti area of the upazila on Thursday morning.

The deceased are – deceased of Satgaon village of Mendipur union of Khaliajuri upazila of Netrokona. Lutfur Rahman son Azharul Islam Nantu and his wife Naisa Akhter. He lived in Nagra area of Nantu district city.

According to the police and local residents, Azharul Islam Nantu was going to his village house Khaliajuri with his wife Naisa Akhter and child on a motorcycle from Nagra area of Netrakona district town around 9:30 am on Thursday morning. When the vehicle carrying them reached Khajanti area of Teligati Union of Atpara Upazila, a bus carrying Madan passengers hit the motorcycle. At that time, Azharul Islam, his wife Naisa Akhtar and their baby daughter fell on the road. When they were rescued and taken to Netrakona Modern Sadar Hospital, the doctor declared Azharul Islam dead. Naisa Akter and the baby were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Nysa died while undergoing treatment there.

Atpara police station OC Ujjal Kanti Sarkar said the body has been sent to the morgue for autopsy.
