Celebration of National Voter’s Day at Kumarkhali

The fifth National Voter’s Day was celebrated in Kumarkhali with the slogan ‘I will be a voter following the rules, I will vote for those who are eligible’. Organized by the upazila administration and upazila election office, the rally took place from the upazila parishad square at 10 am on Thursday. At the end of the rally, a discussion meeting was organized at the Upazila Parishad conference room at 10:30 am. Before the discussion session, the video of Voter’s Day 2023 was shown through a projector. Upazila Election Officer Shirina Akhter Banu said in the welcome speech, ‘Those who will be new voters should not be harassed in any way. They can become voters without any problems. Because national identity card is very important in public life. Smart Bangladesh Birniman has created a database of all citizens to become new voters. A qualified representative can be elected only if the voters turn up and vote for the candidate of their choice. Under the chairmanship of Upazila Executive Officer Bitan Kumar Mandal, freedom fighter Chand Ali also spoke at the meeting. Education Officer Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Kumarkhali Government College Vice Principal Vinay Kumar Sarkar, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Md. Akul Uddin, Women Vice Chairman of Upazila Parishad Marina Akhter Meena and others. On Voter’s Day, smart national identity cards are distributed and new voter biometrics are accepted at voter service. The meeting was conducted by Social Service Officer Mohammad Ali.
