A person named Saiful Islam died in a clash between two villagers over making a Tiktok video on the roof of Sunamganj. More than half a hundred people were injured in this incident.

The clash took place on Wednesday (March 1) from the evening to 11 pm at the roundabout of Surma Bridge. The clash took place between the villagers of Bhaskhala of the city and Muktirgaon of Kalaruka Union. Chatak and Doarabazar police reached the spot and managed to control the situation by firing hundreds of rounds of blanks and tear gas.

Saiful Islam, Mamun, Sajib who were seriously injured in the clash were taken to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where Saiful Islam died. The injured including Razzak, Jasim, Kutilal, Aftab Uddin have been admitted to different hospitals. Deceased Saiful Islam is the son of Chamak Ali of Muktirgaon village.

According to local sources, Razzaq, son of Ahad Mia, Manna, son of Ahmad Ali, and their associates of Vaskhala village stopped a young man while making a Tik Tok video. At that time, they quarreled and fought with Mamun, son of Abdus Sobhan of Muktirgaon village. At one point, Mamun was stabbed. First, a fight started between the two parties. Later the two villagers got into a fight.

Hundreds of people from both sides were injured in the clashes that lasted for about 4 hours. Traffic stopped on Chatak-Gobindganj road during the clash. At this time, the rioters vandalized several shops in the Golchattar area. A pickup van and a motorcycle were vandalized. Police are currently deployed at the scene.

Chatak Circle Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Ranjoy Chandra Mallik confirmed the news of Saiful Islam’s death and said that the statistics of firing and use of tear gas cannot be said to be correct at the moment. 20 people have been arrested in this incident.
