Sharankhola (Bagerhat) Correspondent: A drug dealer named Ilyas Shikder was kidnapped by his accomplices after attacking the police in Sharankhaela of Bagerhat. Two policemen were injured. They have been admitted to Sharankhaela Health Complex. The incident took place on Wednesday night in West Khentakata village of Sharankhaela upazila of Bagerhat. Ilyas is the son of deceased Rashid Shikdar of that village. Officer-in-charge of Sarankhaela Police Station Mr. Ikram Hassan said, ‘A team of police raided there after receiving information about the drug den from a secret source. They were able to arrest drug dealer Ilis with drugs. Later his accomplices came and attacked the police. They abducted Elias along with the drugs.’ A case has been filed alleging assault on the police. Khontakata UP Chairman Zakir Hassan Khan Mohiuddin said, ‘Ilyas is a known drug dealer. He has been doing this for a long time. Because of that, the people of that village were getting fed up.
