Sports competition for children with special needs in Chapainawabganj

A sports competition was held for children with special needs in Chapainawabganj. The event was organized by the district sports organization under the annual sports program of the sports department. On Monday (February 06) at the old stadium, after the day-long competition, a discussion and prize distribution was held in the afternoon.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Agriculturist Ahmed Mahbub-ul-Islam spoke as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony.
The chief guest said that children with special needs should be included in the mainstream by changing social attitudes and removing social barriers. They are our children. Government is working to ensure fair and equal right to education of children with special needs and inclusion in development activities of the country.
District Sports Officer Jahangir Hossain spoke as special guest, District Disability Officer Md. Shariatullah. Former Joint Secretary of District Sports Association Ajmal Hossain, sports organizer Mostafizur Rahman Mukul and others were present. Chapainawabganj district cricket coach Moshiur Rahman Mitu conducted the program.
80 children from different schools with disabilities participated in the competition in 16 events. Out of them 48 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners were awarded and other children were given consolation prizes.
