BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the government and its agents have started a united movement against the dictatorial government; To suppress him, he will adopt various strategies to thwart. That’s why they tell in the media, tell stories, create different kinds of stories. That’s why we don’t worry too much about it. Our only concern is to solve this terrible monster by making the people more united, more involved, beyond that we have no worries.

He said these things after a meeting with the Lienjo Committee of the Democracy Forum on Friday (January 27) evening.

Mirza Fakhrul said, “Democracy Manch and BNP have reviewed our previous programs to make the mass movement that we started with the aim of overthrowing this government successful.” Besides, we have discussed about what programs can be taken later.

Stating that there will be a meeting soon with other parties participating in the simultaneous movement, Fakhrul said that he will make the program successful on February 4 and decide what programs to take next.

He said, respect to those who have been martyred so far in this movement, against the fascist Awami League government and in the movement that we have started to rescue democracy, establish voting rights and make the country a truly welfare state. I have informed, besides, I have demanded the release of those who are imprisoned.

BNP Secretary General said, We are calling on the people to join this movement and we have agreed that we can reach that goal by uniting and creating greater unity in the true sense of liberating democracy.

Mahmudur Rahman Manna, the leader of the democracy stage, said that we are working to make the program that is the basis of the simultaneous movement acceptable to others. We have conducted four programs. I want to take the program further forward. I want to gradually win this program. We discussed policy and strategy on how to move forward.

He also said that our main goal is to strengthen unity. The enemy is working to create confusion to crack this unity. There was a discussion on how to be vigilant in this regard and how to increase the activity in Dhaka metropolis. We have supported the program announced by BNP in Dhaka city. Through this we will try to get to the point where we can lead to a coup. After the program on February 4, there was a discussion about what program can be given in the next step.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir along with Liaison Committee members of the party Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, Barkat Ullah Bulu and Moazzem Hossain Alal were present in the meeting.

Present on behalf of the democracy platform were Liaison Committee President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) Asam Rab, Nagrik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna, General Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque, Chief Coordinator of Mass Solidarity Movement Jonaid Saki, Member Secretary of Public Rights Council Nurul Haque Noor, Secretary General of Bhasani Anusari Parishad Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu and Chief Coordinator of State Reform Movement Advocate Hasnat Qayyum.
